Weekend Premarital Counseling Intensive
Your wedding is one day. Your marriage is everything that comes after. Take a weekend to prepare for both.
Our 6-hour Weekend Premarital Intensive with Lynn Graves gives you and your partner dedicated time to explore communication, conflict resolution, expectations, and shared goals through the SYMBIS assessment.
Available in person in Dunwoody and Atlanta, GA, or virtually throughout Georgia.
How Does the Weekend Premarital Intensive Work?
Wedding planning can make it difficult to fit weekly counseling sessions into your schedule. Our Weekend Premarital Intensive offers a focused alternative, allowing you and your partner to complete the full SYMBIS curriculum over one weekend with guidance from Lynn Graves.
Saturday: 3 Hours Together
Begin your intensive with guided conversations about your relationship, using the SYMBIS assessment to explore your strengths, differences, and expectations for marriage.
Sunday: 3 Hours of Continued Preparation
Continue working through the SYMBIS curriculum, discussing important areas of your relationship and how to apply what you've learned as you prepare for married life.
What You'll Take Away
By the end of the weekend, you'll have a better understanding of your relationship, important conversations to continue together, and a Premarital Certificate of Completion.
What Will You Explore During Your Premarital Intensive?
You probably know a lot about each other already. But have you talked about how you'll manage money, navigate family expectations, or handle disagreements once you're married?
Your premarital intensive creates space for these conversations and more, helping you better understand each other's perspectives on important areas of married life, including:
Communication & Conflict: Understand how you each communicate, respond to disagreements, and work through difficult conversations.
Money & Financial Decisions: Discuss spending habits, saving, debt, financial priorities, and how you'll approach money as a couple.
Family & Boundaries: Explore relationships with parents and in-laws, family traditions, and the boundaries you want to establish together.
Roles & Expectations: Talk openly about household responsibilities, career goals, personal needs, and what you expect from each other in marriage.
Love & Intimacy: Explore how you express affection, experience emotional closeness, and approach physical intimacy.
Shared Values & Future Goals: Discuss the beliefs, priorities, and long-term plans that will shape your life together.

Premarital counseling helps you understand what triggers conflict in your relationship and teaches you healthy ways to work through it. Instead of trying to avoid disagreements, you’ll learn how to communicate clearly, listen with empathy, and respond without blame or defensiveness. Your therapist will guide you through real-life scenarios to help you practice problem-solving together. Over time, you’ll feel more confident addressing issues as a team, which builds trust and strengthens your connection long after the wedding.
